As I mentioned in this week’s WIRR entry, we went backcountry skiing yesterday in frigid cold.  The thermometer read 8 when we pulled into the parking lot, and the wind was howling like a banshee.  Thankfully the wind died down once we got into the trees, so the windchill warmed up enough for me to take this single picture.

Once we got to the bowl, the winds picked up again.  With the cold and wind, we only made 2 runs on the bowl before returning to the car and a waiting thermos of hot chocolate.
