A late spring snowstorm on April 27 covered Fort Collins with a wet blanket of white. I stopped the car as I drove past Cathy Fromme Natural Area, and got out to shoot these snow covered trees. By 10:00 am, the snow was a melted memory.

The shot overhead uses the Soft Infrared preset in Silver Efex Pro. I like the way how it softens the image, and how the grain is virtually indistinguishable from the clumps of snow. Both of these effects are hard to see on the web photo above, but a more straightforwards black and image is shown below for comparison.
