Tulips.

WIRR 2010 January 4

Late afternoon winter light streamed sideways through the window to illuminate these tulips.  Once I remembered to open up the lens to blur the background (a bedsheet hanging on the wall), I got some good results.  I used HDR in somewhat of a non-traditional way- to fill in the harsh shadows from the sidelight.  I think a flash is the conventional way to achieve the same effect.
