One of my job responsibilities is to sit on the board of the Colorado Clean Energy Cluster. This is a group consisting of local governments, universities, and businesses that promotes clean energy. Today I sat in on a series of interview presentations for three CEO candidates. I often watch presentations like this, and they are often quite bad. Not at this level. They all covered the same basic topic, and it was fun to see the material presented in different ways. I was feeling satisfied with my notes until I saw the guy next to me had constructed and filled in a job competency matrix of the three candidates. This is a great idea that I hope to copy soon. In the meantime, I have to write up my comments and make a decision. It will be a tough one.
