Native Mobile Development

Here are three great articles on the Native vs. HTML argument for mobile app development.

Why LinkedIn dumped HTML5 & went native for its mobile apps talks about how LinkedIn switched. The other big example is Facebook, who also tried to write a “more portable” app using HTML5, and also had to abandon their efforts and rewrite their apps using mobile technologies.

Web Apps vs. Native Apps is Still a Thing. John Gruber chimes in.

Why mobile web apps are slow is my favorite in the bunch. This a long article, but if you only read one of these, this is one. Author Drew Crawford goes into amazing detail about exactly why JavaScript apps are slow, and why they will continue to be for years into the future. Highly recommended article.
