Calendar Photo of the Month- June 2015

Scroll down to content

Every year I put together a calendar of my favorite images of the year. I order a couple for me, and one for my friend Bill. This year, Bill asked for more information about each photo to give it some context. And thus was born a recurring series on this blog. Every month I’ll take the photo from that month’s calendar page and tell the story behind it.

For the last few summers we’ve been making an annual trip to Chambers Lake Campground in Cameron Pass. It’s a great campground, complete with lake and a kid’s playground. Behind our campsite, a trail led off in the woods towards Joe Wright creek, which tumbles down the mountainside into Chambers Lake. One night after dinner we went for a walk there. Of course, I brought my camera and tripod. I set up this shot on a bridge leaving over the creek, and left the shutter open as long as I could.

Technical Details: Canon 7D, EF-S 17-85mm f/4-5.6 IS USM at 26mm, 13 sec at f/22, ISO 100.
