Calendar Photo of the Month— October 2015

Scroll down to content

Every year I put together a calendar of my favorite images of the year. I order a couple for me, and one for my friend Bill. This year, Bill asked for more information about each photo to give it some context. And thus was born a recurring series on this blog. Every month I’ll take the photo from that month’s calendar page and tell the story behind it.

This photo was taken during Nate’s four-day October break, the same day as the calendar photo from August. It’s a rock formation not from Double Arch. It doesn’t have the superhero light from sunset of that night, but I like the wispy clouds and contrails contrasted against the hard rock.

Technical Details: Canon 7D, EF-S 17-85mm f/4-5.6 IS USM AT 85mm, 1/125 sec at f/5.6, ISO 100.
