Flowers are one of my favorite subjects, so I smiled when the first daffodil of the year bloomed in our backyard. A day later we were blessed with overcast and drizzle. I knew this would be a great opportunity to photograph that flower. I put on my rain jacket and rain pants, and laid down on the wet grass, using my elbows and body to form a tripod to support the camera. It was raining lightly, but that was why I bought a weather-resistant camera in the first place. This shot of a daffodil become my favorite image of the week:

WIRR stands for Weekly Image Rich Ruh. This regular feature on Das Has von Ruh will show and describe my favorite photo created during this weekly period. My weeks start on Mondays, as does the WIRR. I’m hoping to include commentary on the story, the setting, the specs, or the sentiments, depending on the circumstances.
