This was a good week for photography, and I had a difficult choice choosing the image of the week. I finally gave the nod to this flower that I shot in the rain in my front yard. It was a cold miserable day, but I cannot resist shooting raindrops! (And a shout-out to the weather-sealing on the Fujifilm XT-2, which allows me to shoot like this and not worry about it).
Flower in the Rain #2
Fujifilm X-T2, Fujinon XF 60mm f/2.4 R Macro, f/8 at 1/250, ISO 3200.
ISO 3200? Are you kidding me? Remember when 400 speed film was too fast to be any good?
Digital Darkroom. I started by using Touch ReTouch to clean off two small blotches on the image (I later realized this was dust on the sensor). After that, processing was pretty minimal- Exposure +0.54, Contrast +4, Clarity +13. That’s it.
WIRR stands for Weekly Image Rich Ruh. This regular feature on Das Has von Ruh will show and describe my favorite photo created during this weekly period. My weeks start on Mondays, as does the WIRR. I’m hoping to include commentary on the story, the setting, the specs, or the sentiments, depending on the circumstances.
