One of my ongoing projects is taking photos of ceiling lamps. (While I got the original idea from my friend Cole Thompson, I’m copying the subject matter, not the style.)
A disproportionate number of these pictures are taken with my iPhone, as it seems a disproportionate number of nice looking lamps are in restaurants, and my iPhone is always with me there. This particular shot was taken after I looked up during my meal at Simply Thai in Fort Collins. This became my favorite image of the week.

Digital Darkroom. I started processing this by using the TouchReTouch app to clean up a bunch of distracting elements. After that I applied a crop to produce the square image. I ended by increasing highlights and clarity, and reducing shadows and blacks.
WIRR stands for Weekly Image Rich Ruh. This regular feature on Das Has von Ruh will show and describe my favorite photo created during this weekly period. My weeks start on Mondays, as does the WIRR. I’m hoping to include commentary on the story, the setting, the specs, or the sentiments, depending on the circumstances.
