My company campus in California comes complete with a set of Japanese gardens with koi ponds. During one particularly hectic afternoon I took a short break to go outside and sit. As I sat there, I tried to stop thinking and start looking. It worked; my eyes snapped to a pattern of ripples on the surface of the water. This became my favorite image of the week.

Digital Darkroom. I didn’t do much to this image- nudged contrast a tiny bit and lowered blacks.

WIRR stands for Weekly Image Rich Ruh. This regular feature on Das Has von Ruh will show and describe my favorite photo created during this weekly period. My weeks start on Mondays, as does the WIRR. I’m hoping to include commentary on the story, the setting, the specs, or the sentiments, depending on the circumstances.
