After a week of work in California, I met the family in Denver for a trip to the History Colorado museum. Although the museum wasn’t as interesting as I remembered, we stepped outside at dusk to a delightful collage of angles on the building across the street. This became my favorite image of the week.

Reflections and Angles

Fujifilm X-T2, Fujinon XF 60mm f/2.4 R Macro, f/4 at 1/1600, ISO 1600.

Digital Darkroom. Although the image was colorful, I knew I wanted it in black and white to emphasize the angles. I also wanted to emphasize the different tones, so I decreased blacks, and increased whites, contrast (+40) and dehaze (+13) to help with that. My initial take on the image added some grain, but I turned that off in a subsequent edit. As an aside, the shutter speed and ISO were so high because I had just taken photos inside the building.

WIRR stands for Weekly Image Rich Ruh. This regular feature on Das Has von Ruh will show and describe my favorite photo created during this weekly period. My weeks start on Mondays, as does the WIRR. I’m hoping to include commentary on the story, the setting, the specs, or the sentiments, depending on the circumstances.
