Colorado snowfall was plentiful in 2019, and we spent closing weekend in Steamboat Springs. Even though it was April, we still had some of the best skiing of the year. After the first day on the slopes we had a pleasant surprise. A band that I liked, Magic Giant, was playing a free concert in Gondola Square. After dropping our gear in the condo, I walked back with friends to watch this group perform. And they were very good. Magic Giant is sort of a pop-rock-folk trio, sounding a little bit like a poppier Mumford & Sons… with more patchouli. All three were excellent musicians and entertaining showmen to boot. For one song they came out into the audience and encouraged everyone to get close. I was perfectly positioned to shoot a photo with my iPhone and this became my favorite image of the week.
