Nate and I were bachelors for the weekend, and we spent a day in Old Town together. We started with one of his favorite lunch/snack spots, Chick N’ Cone, where he could get a waffle cone filled with chicken nuggets drenched with maple syrup (mine had a spicy African chili sauce). After eating, we wandered over to the Fort Collins Car Show. This was pretty extensive, with a large variety of cars from different eras. While my improbable favorite was a 70s era Volkswagen sports car, I loved the colors and sparkle of this Chevrolet engine block, and this became my favorite image of the week.

Digital Darkroom. Not much needed for this one. I boosted shadows (+33) to reveal more detail, tweaked contrast (+6), and gave clarity a bump to increase the sparkle (+33).

Incidentally, when did I become a car photographer?

WIRR stands for Weekly Image Rich Ruh. This regular feature on Das Has von Ruh will show and describe my favorite photo created during this weekly period. My weeks start on Mondays, as does the WIRR. I’m hoping to include commentary on the story, the setting, the specs, or the sentiments, depending on the circumstances.
