As described in the my last post, I had a productive hour or so photographing flowers in Joshua Tree National Park. The section of the park where I was shooting was a canyon, though, and it wasn’t long before the sun dipped behind the walls of the canyon and I lost my light.
Not to worry. I loaded my tripod back in the car and drove deeper into the park to see what I could find.

I didn’t find many flowers. Climbing in elevation, I reached areas that would probably be nice in a few weeks, but not yet.

What I found instead was one fabulous sunset.
