I never like double-posting a photo, and I don’t like publishing my WIRR posts out of order. But nobody wants to see a Christmas tree photo in March either…
With the cards sent, shopping done, and presents wrapped, I relaxed by setting up the tripod and taking a photo of our Christmas tree. This was my favorite image of the week.

Christmas Tree 2019
Fujifilm X-T2, Fujinon XF 18-55 f/2.8-4 R LM OIS at 18mm, f/8 at 10 seconds, ISO 200.
Digital Darkroom. I started with the usual adjustments. I increased contrast, then boosted highlights to give my sparkle, and brightened the shadows to show more of the tree. I added some clarity to show more detail in the tinsel and needles. Finally, I brought the image into the iPad version of Touch Retouch to remove a wall-mounted audio speaker in the background.
WIRR stands for Weekly Image Rich Ruh. This regular feature on Das Has von Ruh will show and describe my favorite photo created during this weekly period. My weeks start on Mondays, as does the WIRR. I’m hoping to include commentary on the story, the setting, the specs, or the sentiments, depending on the circumstances.
