WIRR 2019, December Week 2

At the corner of College and Walnut, a now-defunct restaurant has a small patio outside. The patio is ringed with a metal fence made from interlocking circles. I liked the geometric patterns as I walked past one day, and this became my favorite image of the week.

Digital Darkroom. I started by converting the image to black and white. I’ve started to experiment a bit with Lightroom profiles; this image started with B&W 10. I increased contrast (+21), texture (+15), and clarity (+22), and used the healing tool to clean up random bits of dirt and leaves on the ground. I finished with split toning (yellow highlights, blue shadows), to give this image its special look and mood.

WIRR stands for Weekly Image Rich Ruh. This regular feature on Das Has von Ruh will show and describe my favorite photo created during this weekly period. My weeks start on Mondays, as does the WIRR. I’m hoping to include commentary on the story, the setting, the specs, or the sentiments, depending on the circumstances.
