WIRR 2019, December Week 5

Scroll down to content

For years our family has been skiing at Snowy Range Ski Area in southern Wyoming. There’s enough terrain for the family, prices are reasonable, the lodge is uncrowded, and the drive is free of traffic. That alone would be enough, but the beautiful of the drive makes it that much better. On this particular day, we passed from the forests into the prairie just in time for sunset. This became my favorite image of the week.

Digital Darkroom. This was shot from the passenger seat. I started by cropping and fixing the crooked horizon. I increased contrast (+21), texture (+24), and vibrance (+21) and called it good. I’m at a loss to explain the clean windshield- definitely not typical.

This concludes the WIRR for 2019. 2020 starts next week!

WIRR stands for Weekly Image Rich Ruh. This regular feature on Das Has von Ruh will show and describe my favorite photo created during this weekly period. My weeks start on Mondays, as does the WIRR. I’m hoping to include commentary on the story, the setting, the specs, or the sentiments, depending on the circumstances.
