This week I went skiing at Snowy Range, our nearby ski area in Centennial, Wyoming. As remarked upon before, one of the perks of this particular area is the drive to get there is so gorgeous. On the ride home, the sunset over the mountains was amazing enough that I had to stop a make a few photos. This became my favorite image of the week.

Digital Darkroom. The original image wasn’t bad, but my phone definitely didn’t capture what we saw either. I boosted contrast (+27) and texture (+23) globally. I then created a graduated filter to increase foreground exposure by a stop. I created a second graduated filter to increase dehaze in the sky (+16). Finally, one power pole kept catching my eye, so I used the healing brush to remove it.
WIRR stands for Weekly Image Rich Ruh. This regular feature on Das Has von Ruh will show and describe my favorite photo created during this weekly period. My weeks start on Mondays, as does the WIRR. I’m hoping to include commentary on the story, the setting, the specs, or the sentiments, depending on the circumstances.
