Last weekend, we took a family bike ride alongside the Poudre River. One of our stops was to check out the “Brooklyn Bridge.” This is an old structure that crosses the river, and was used to carry beet sugar refining waste. It made for some interesting geometry, and this became my favorite image of the week.

Here’s some more history about the “Brooklyn Bridge”:

Digital Darkroom. I started with a black-and-white conversion, and the use of a red filter to enhance the sky. I increased the contrast, and evened out the light by lowering highlights and increasing shadows. I finished with increasing texture and dehaze.
WIRR stands for Weekly Image Rich Ruh. This regular feature on Das Has von Ruh will show and describe my favorite photo created during this weekly period. My weeks start on Mondays, as does the WIRR. I’m hoping to include commentary on the story, the setting, the specs, or the sentiments, depending on the circumstances.
