WIRR 2020, September Week 2

Scroll down to content

After the backpacking trip last weekend, followed by the short week, this weekend was unfortunately dedicated to yard work and errands. Thankfully, Nate and I did most of the errands on a bicycle. On Sunday night, we met our friends the Weinbergers for a picnic dinner at Twin Silos Park. Nate and I rode our bikes there (Dorinna gave Nate a ride home afterwards). As we finished our take-out, a beautiful sunset lit up the sky, and this became my favorite image of the week.

Digital Darkroom. I started with a set of global adjustments. I lowered exposure by 1/3 of a stop, and increased contrast, dehaze, and saturation. I didn’t like the lights reflected on the cars in the parking lot, so I used a graduated filter to lower shadows by -100.

WIRR stands for Weekly Image Rich Ruh. This regular feature on Das Has von Ruh will show and describe my favorite photo created during this weekly period. My weeks start on Mondays, as does the WIRR. I’m hoping to include commentary on the story, the setting, the specs, or the sentiments, depending on the circumstances.
