The family has gotten fairly accustomed to my habit of suddenly slowing down to pull over and take a photo, so this one surprised nobody. I loved this strange and swirly cloud on top of Sheep Mountain after we drove back from a day of skiing at Snowy Range. This became my favorite image of the week.

Digital Darkroom. To process this image, I increased exposure by three-quarters of a stop, and then increased contrast (17) and texture (20). This fixed the foreground. For the sky and mountain, I dragged down a graduated filter, lowering the exposure (-0.25) and increasing dehaze (33).

WIRR stands for Weekly Image Rich Ruh. This regular feature on Das Has von Ruh will show and describe my favorite photo created during this weekly period. My weeks start on Mondays, as does the WIRR. I’m hoping to include commentary on the story, the setting, the specs, or the sentiments, depending on the circumstances.
