This week had a delightful stretch of warm weather, and we went out for a family lunch. While waiting for a table, I walked a few blocks to a new building at the corner of Linden and Willow. The sidewalk was made of patterned bricks. I put together a few different compositions, and this became my favorite image of the week.

Digital Darkroom. After the obvious conversion to black and white, I increased the exposure by half of a stop and then made the usual adjustments to increase contrast (increase contrast, highlights, and white, reduce shadows and blacks). I finished by adding a touch of dehaze to further extenuate the patterns.

I’m hoping to include commentary on the story, the setting, the specs, or the sentiments, depending on the circumstances.
