This year’s snowstorm dropped two feet of a heavy rain/snow mix, uncharacteristic for Colorado. Tree damage was extensive throughout the city. A small ornamental tree in our front yard snapped in half, and the centerpiece ash in our backyard lost its crown and two other large limbs. As I surveyed the wreckage, I looked up and noticed the unusual mix of branches reaching up to the sky and down to the earth. I liked the disorienting perspective, and this became my favorite image of the week.

WIRR stands for Weekly Image Rich Ruh. This regular feature on Das Has von Ruh will show and describe my favorite photo created during this weekly period. My weeks start on Mondays, as does the WIRR. I’m hoping to include commentary on the story, the setting, the specs, or the sentiments, depending on the circumstances.
