WIRR 2021, April Week 4

Scroll down to content

This week we took a family bike ride on the trails in Fort Collins. We took the Spring Creek Trail from our neighborhood downstream to the Poudre River trail. We took that trail in to Old Town for dinner before cycling home. Storm clouds threatened, but never followed through on the threat. On the ride into Old Town, we got a great view of the feed & grain building, and this became my favorite image of the week.

Digital Darkroom. The storm clouds added plenty of drama on their own, but I wanted to emphasize them even further. I increased contrast and highlights, and lowered shadows. I liked the skies, but this turned the buildings too dark, so I painted over them with a brush to increase whites , highlights, and exposure (slightly)

WIRR stands for Weekly Image Rich Ruh. This regular feature on Das Has von Ruh will show and describe my favorite photo created during this weekly period. My weeks start on Mondays, as does the WIRR. I’m hoping to include commentary on the story, the setting, the specs, or the sentiments, depending on the circumstances.
