Twas’ the night after Christmas, when all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a… er, well there was this photographer…
Every year I try to take a non-standard photo of our Christmas tree. This year I again played with long exposures. The difference this year is I took the camera off the tripod to add some extra motion. I had some fun, and this became my favorite image of the week.

Christmas Tree 2021
Fujifilm X-T2, Fujinon XF 18-55 f/2.8-4 R LM OIS, f/6.4 at 2.3 seconds, ISO 800
I posted this shot out of order for the simple reason that nobody wants to see Christmas tree pictures months after the holiday…
Here are a few other shots that I liked:

And for anyone who wants a straightforward photo of our Christmas tree:

Digital Darkroom. Just a few minor adjustments: 1) Selecting the Fujifilm Velvia RAW profile, 2) decreasing shadows and 3) increasing contrast and dehaze. The artistry was in the capture itself; I handheld the camera while zooming the lens, adding in an intentional swirl at the end.
WIRR stands for Weekly Image Rich Ruh. This regular feature on Das Has von Ruh will show and describe my favorite photo created during this weekly period. My weeks start on Mondays, as does the WIRR. I’m hoping to include commentary on the story, the setting, the specs, or the sentiments, depending on the circumstances.
Some nice effects you created. And I like the Star Trek ship on top 🙂
