Is there a better way to end a weekend at Steamboat Springs than with a sunset on the way home? This stop on the way home yielded my favorite image of the week.

Rocky Mountain Sunset
Fujifilm X-T2, Fujinon XF 18-55 f/2.8-4 R LM OIS at 55mm, f/5.6 at 1/60, ISO 500
Digital Darkroom. Any chance of not using the Velvia film emulation ended as soon as I saw what it looked like. I lowered the exposure by a quarter stop, lowered highlights by the same, and plunged the blacks by -89. I increased whites by +45 to bring the light back into the image, and also gave a small boost to shadows. I finished the image with an increase to texture (+18) and clarity (+7).
WIRR stands for Weekly Image Rich Ruh. This regular feature on Das Has von Ruh will show and describe my favorite photo created during this weekly period. My weeks start on Mondays, as does the WIRR. I’m hoping to include commentary on the story, the setting, the specs, or the sentiments, depending on the circumstances.
