We stayed at home this week, getting ready for upcoming travel. I shot an image of some tiles, and after fun in the darkroom, this became my favorite image of the week.

Digital Darkroom. I knew I wanted this in black and white, and I knew I wanted the processing to be extreme. I started by lowering exposure by over a stop, boosting whites, clarity, and dehaze, and lowered blacks. I used a brush to isolate two tiles, and edited the rest of the photo by lowering highlights and whites each by -100.
WIRR stands for Weekly Image Rich Ruh. This regular feature on Das Has von Ruh will show and describe my favorite photo created during this weekly period. My weeks start on Mondays, as does the WIRR. I’m hoping to include commentary on the story, the setting, the specs, or the sentiments, depending on the circumstances.
