I try to stay away from the technical aspects of photography here on this blog, but this is too good not to share. Adobe recently introduced a “AI-enabled” noise reduction tool to Lightroom. I tried it out, and the results are pretty amazing.
Here is part of an image I took at a Native American powwow in Fort Collins last month. This image was taken handheld at ISO 6400 inside a gymnasium at night. For the kinds of images I take, this is just about the worst-case scenario.
Here is part of the image, enlarged to roughly 200% and cropped.

And here is the same image, after the denoise tools were used (at the default settings).

Quite a difference!
